Our Daily Goliath
“A quiet classroom, but loud hope.“
In Suba, a girls journey to education is one of immense hardship. She must fight through:
- Child labor in the fishing industry, which is rampant.
- Early pregnancies, teenage marriages, and gender-based violence, her everyday realities.
- Education difficulties due lack of basic educational materials like books, uniforms.
- Widespread poverty, limited access to healthcare and poor school infrastructure

Over 50% of the population lives in extreme poverty, making basic needs like education, healthcare, and sanitation secondary priorities. HIV/AIDS has further ravaged the community with over 34% of the population infected, and Suba recording the highest new infection rate in Kenya. Many children have been orphaned and now live with elderly, often illiterate, grandparents, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and social stigma.
These conditions have led to high rates of school dropouts and a deep undervaluing of education. Girls frequently lack access to basic necessities such as sanitary pads, school uniforms, books, and shoes, essentials that should never stand in the way of a child’s right to learn.
Despite these overwhelming odds, our girls still dream big at young ages and Nyasuba Foundation is here to ensure they have a fighting chance even as they get older.
We believe every child deserves a chance to dream, to learn, to grow, and to be heard. At Nyasuba Foundation, we aim to restore that chance. We are committed to restoring hope in our community by uplifting and empowering the girlchild.
Our goal is to nurture a girl who is:
- Empowered physically, mentally, health wise and emotionally
- Confident in her identity and potential
- Equipped with knowledge, leadership, and life skills
- Resilient enough to break barriers
- Curious and wise enough to embrace learning
- Humble and values-driven enough to embody respect, discipline, and leadership.
Her future begins with a chance. Your support makes it possible
We are here to raise a generation of girls who dare to dream and are strong enough to achieve it.
